After Care
Tattoo Aftercare
Thank you for choosing our studio for your tattoo.
Proper tattoo aftercare is crucial to ensure the longevity and vibrancy of your new ink.
To ensure the best care for your new tattoo, please follow these general recommendations:
Make sure your hands are clean.
Use unscented antibacterial soap and avoid fragrances soap, moisture beads or scrub.
Carefully remove the bandage/ cling film. If it sticks to the tattoo, wet it with lukewarm water and gently slide it off. Do not force it off or be rough with it.
Make a lather in your hands with soap and warm water. No washcloths, bath towels or sponge on a fresh tattoo!
Gently clean the tattoo until all blood, ointment and plasma are removed. Rinse the tattoo gently.
Pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel then allow to fully air dry. Do not scrub
Once the tattoo is dry, apply a very small amount of tattoo aftercare cream. Gently rub the into your tattoo. Dab any excess off with a clean paper towel.
If you have a second skin bandage on your tattoo, you can leave it on for 1-2 days. Change it whenever it becomes dirty, loose, or full of liquids. Follow the artist’s recommendations for bandage removal.
The easiest way to remove the bandage is in the shower. Gently rub off any remaining glue with unscented soap. Do not force it off.
Lightly moisturize your tattoo with a tattoo aftercare cream whenever it feels dry.
The healing time for tattoos is usually 2-4 weeks, depending on the size and complexity of the piece.
In addition to specific instructions for a second skin/dermalize bandage use, here are some general recommendations for the healing process:
Your tattoo will peel like a sunburn after a few days. This is normal. If scabbing occurs in some areas, allow them to fall off naturally.
Avoid scratching or picking at scabs or peeling skin. Additionally, do not over-saturate the tattoo in the shower, as this can cause premature removal of scabs, leading to blank spots that may require touch-ups.
During the healing process (up to 4 weeks), avoid swimming pools, jacuzzis, soaking in water, and intense workouts or activities that may damage the tattoo.
Protect your fresh tattoo from sun exposure, as the ink can fade, especially colored tattoos. You can use natural and organic sunblock cream, but avoid fake tanning products.
Keep in mind that our studio has a touch-up policy that allows for touch-ups within 2 months after the tattoo has been done. After this period, any touch-ups will be done at the client’s expense.
